Tips & Hints
Here are a few tips on choosing music for your event;
Your DJ will only be able to play around 15 to 20 tracks per hour so a list of about 30 tracks is fine, if you want to choose all the tracks, then >>>> why bother booking a DJ?
Your DJ needs a list though so he/she can make a selection based on age, the audience and personal tastes. They will then compile a playlist based on their long experience that will suit all in the room.
When considering your music choice remember you have other guests who may not share your passion for Bavarian Horn Music!!!!
Above all, THE CLUE IS IN THE NAME! it is a DISCO, the audience will be expecting to dance, so choose dance/disco music.
We are often told, usually after the event:
I wish I had taken more care in booking the Disco because it was last event of the day and the thing everyone remembered as they left. If you book solely on price or because you have a friend..........you may be disappointed because thier idea of an entertaining evening may be different from yours.
Some discos charge £100 quid or so: Why are you so expensive? All our equipment is either new, nearly new and top class recognised brands. Our Dj's are professionals who work for YOU. We turn up on time and guarantee a first rate evening. We pay our licence fees so we don't get shut down during the evening.
Some Discos charge £500 or more: why are you so cheap? We don't think you should be penalised by a Disco making unreasonable charges. New Forest Disco works regularly in the area and makes a sensible profit by giving value for money. We prefer to work than have the equipment sat idle.
Why can't we have the music louder/softer? Some venues in built up areas, especially Hotels where there are residents staying will often have restrictions on sound levels that enforce turning down the sound level to comply with noise nusiance. It will pay to check if your choice of venue has such restrictions.
Can I use your mikes for anouncments? Yes we always offer this facility.
What time can you play until? Check with your venue as often it is a requirement that the venue is cleared by a certain time which may be before midnight.
Can you play background music during the dinner/buffet/early evening? Yes.
Will you play requests? Yes provided the songs requested are suitable dance tracks or the request can be fitted in during the background or warm-up sessions.
Can you do jingles for birthday etc? Yes.
Do you do "teenage" parties
Generally we do not offer discos for teenage parties. Our target audience is 25 to 60 and as we specialise in weddings and birthdays our music choice reflects this.
